Download the current RYZ Design Frameworks pack. This folder includes a low resolution PNG file you'll submit to our site and also a high resolution PDF file needed if your design is chosen as a winner.

CREATE

From the RYZ Design Frameworks folder, open the high resolution PDF file. For the best results, we suggest you create your design in a vector art program such as Adobe Illustrator® - this type of program allows your design to be scaled larger or smaller without losing quality. A raster program such as Adobe Photoshop® will work as well, however, please make sure to create your original design at a high resolution of 300dpi. Important: Make sure you save this high resolution version of your design. If your design is chosen as a winner, we will need this file for production.

Color Usage - we ask that the design not exceed 6 colors. Each shade and tint of a color count as colors. For example, if you are using Dark Grey and Light Grey, you would be using 2 colors. Black and white each count as a color as well. If you have some amazing masterpiece that exceeds this criteria but think the world should see it, please contact us at creative[at]ryz.com.

SAVE AND UPLOAD

Once you've finished and saved your work, open the PNG file from the RYZ Design Frameworks folder. This file is what our site will use to create a 3D shoe from your design. Transfer your original design to this PNG file. Make sure the file is flattened and resave the file in its original size. Do not crop or resize this PNG file (the RYZ 3D modeling program will not read it correctly). Upload your saved PNG file to your Private Design Workspace on our site. You can revise and delete your designs as much as you'd like. The Private Design Workspace is for your eyes only.

SUBMIT

Once you're satisfied with your design submit your design to the contest. The first phase is the Critique phase. Constructive criticism is a good way to help you perfect your craft. Remember, this is a public critique. Be prepared for both the good and the bad. If you can't deal with negative feedback or harsh criticism, maybe this isn't the place for you.

SHARE / VOTE

If your design makes it into the Vote gallery, it will be available for the world to cast their votes for their favorite designs. At the end of the Vote phase, RYZ will use analyze the data to help determine a winner. So get out and build the hype! Share your design via Facebook, Twitter, Myspace, your mom, whatever it takes. Get people voting and commenting on your design.
